Over the past weeks, we have been looking at John’s gospel and the significance of the number seven. I hope it has been interesting and enlightening for each of you. The Seven Feasts in John’s Gospel.

Up to this point, we have discussed several sevens found in the gospel of John. We have talked about the seven “I AM’s,” “Witnesses,” “Signs,” and the seven proofs of Jesus’ divinity. Each group conveys to us important information about Jesus and His true identity. As John said in John 20:30-31, his primary purpose for writing his gospel account of Jesus was to convince us of Jesus and to instill a saving faith within us. Thus, each of these seven’s is meant to teach us something important about Jesus. In today’s article we are going to look at the Seven Feasts mentioned in John’s gospel and hopefully, gain some insights into their purpose.

The Seven Proofs of Jesus’ Divinity.

As we continue our study of John’s Gospel and the number seven, we come to our fourth number seven. We have covered the seven “I AM’s” of Jesus, the seven “signs” or miracles, and the seven witnesses to the identity of Jesus. The Seven Signs of John’s Gospel.

To help each of us have a better understanding and appreciation of the Gospel of John. I have been trying to list the groups of sevens for you. John’s gospel, much like Revelation, is full of symbolism and numbers. Often, what is said or done has an underlying, spiritual truth that is meant to be understood. The Seven “Witnesses” in the gospel of John.

Last week, I shared an article from David Ferguson on the seven “I AM” statements found in John’s gospel. Today, I want to continue that idea and share with you the seven witnesses in John.
