Telling the Truth Grows Your Own Faith
The healed man does not have every answer, but he tells the truth he knows. As he speaks, his understanding grows: Jesus is not merely “the man called Jesus”; He is a prophet. Honest witness strengthens faith because it keeps us close to what Christ has done.
Confirming Facts Is Not the Same as Taking a Side
The parents acknowledge that this is their son and that he was born blind. But when asked who opened his eyes, they step back: “Ask him yourself.” It is possible to admit the facts while avoiding the personal commitment those facts require.
The Fear of Man Costs Someone Else More
The parents were afraid of being put out of the synagogue. Their fear may be understandable, but it leaves their son standing alone. Fear of people does not stay private; it can make us silent at the moment someone else most needs faithful support.
Conclusion
The question before us is not only what we know about Jesus, but whether we will stand with Him. Tell the truth about what He has done. Do not let fear keep you from owning your faith or from standing beside someone who needs courage.
